Apply Decorator's Caulk
Using a sealant gun, apply a bead of decorator's caulk along the molding profile and groove details.
Smooth Caulk
Smooth along the caulk with a wet finger (image 1). Carefully remove any excess with a clean, damp sponge (image 2). Smooth the caulk again with a wet finger.
Repaint Molding
Once the caulk is dry, repaint the molding to achieve a much-improved surface.
