How to Repair Torn Wallpaper

Step 1: Tear Out a Patch of Matching Wallpaper
First, smooth out the damaged wallpaper as much as possible.
Find a piece of wallpaper with a matching pattern, and tear out a patch so that the underlying paper doesn't show.
Step 2: Activate the Adhesive
Dampen the back of the wallpaper to activate the adhesive. If the wallpaper is not prepasted, apply a thin coat of wallpaper paste.
Step 3: Apply the Patch
Position the patch so that it matches the surrounding wallpaper pattern. Press the patch into place with a sponge.
