How to Repair a Fiberglass Mesh Screen

If your fiberglass screen has minor damage, you can repair it with an ordinary needle and thread.

screen doors can be repaired fairly easily
        • Time

          30 Minutes

        • Price Range

          $1 - $50

        • Difficulty

          Easy

        Highlights:

Step 1: Bend and Thread the Needle

Thread the needle with a thread color that matches the screen.

Bending the needle slightly will make it easier to work the needle in and out of the screen mesh working from just one side of the screen.

Step 2: Work From Top to Bottom

Start at the top of the tear and work your way down to the bottom. Tie off the thread in the same way as when repairing fabric when you reach the bottom, and cut away excess thread. If you take your time and working the thread in and out carefully, the repair won't be too obvious.
