        How to Repair a Brick Walkway

        Uneven bricks in a walkway pose a tripping hazard. These simple steps take you through the repair.

        Highlights:

        Step 1: Remove Loose Pavers

        Use a flat-head screwdriver or pry bar to remove loose pavers.

        Step 2: Add Sand

        Add coarse sand in the spot where the brick used to be.

        Step 3: Replace Pavers

        Tamp down the sand and replace the pavers. Make sure the brick is level.

        Step 4: Add More Sand

        Once all pavers are in place, put some sand on top of the brick and sweep it to help further lock the brick in place (Images 1 and 2).
