How to Remove a Linen Cloth Wall Covering from Plaster Walls

Step 1: Remove the Old Wallpaper
Peel and scrape off the old linen cloth wall covering (Image 1).
Remove the wallpaper glue from the wall with TSP cleaner and sponges and brushes (Image 2).
Step 2: Repair and Refinish the Wall
Repair the plaster surface as needed using gypsum compound to fill cracks and holes.
Lightly sand the repairs smooth to the wall.
Apply primer to plaster walls.
Apply one to two coats of enamel paint to the walls
