How to Plan a Bathroom Renovation

The bathroom should not only look good, it should make you feel good, too.

        Highlights:

Step 1: Watch an Overview Video

Step 2: Install a New Vanity

Remodeling your bathroom can increase your home's resale value. Start by examining your bathroom's floor plan. It's more cost effective to keep plumbing where it is. Next, decide what stays and what goes.

A new bathroom vanity and sink can make a big splash. If your master bathroom has two separate vanities, consider varying counter heights for him and her and seek out unique hardware for added interest. Vanity heights range between 32" and 36". For an elegant and spacious look, try a pedestal sink.

Step 3: Add Storage and Style

A medicine cabinet, floor cabinet and deep shelf can provide storage and character. For extra style, use sconces to light up the bath. Be sure they are bright enough for your morning and evening routines.

You may even want a new spa tub and a roomy shower with multiple showerheads. To save money, consider refinishing your tub instead.
