        How to Paint a Roll-Top Desk

        Using paint and glaze, this roll-top desk gets a cleaned-up look fit for a modern office.

        In this Project you will:

        Step 1: Sand the Surface and Apply the Base Coat

        Sand the surface of the desk until smooth.

        Remove the hardware, then apply the base coat with a 6 1/2" seamless foam roller, then allow to dry.

        Step 2: Paint the Hardware

        Paint the hardware using silver paint.

        Step 3: Apply the Glaze and Reattach the Hardware

        Mix several drops of violet and black tint into half a painter's bucket of latex glazing liquid.

        Apply the glaze in small sections, then wipe off with cheese cloth.

        Apply glaze to the hardware.

        After the glaze is dry, reattach the hardware.
