Start by collecting logs and branches in various sizes. For the head and body, logs 4-10" in diameter work best, while smaller logs and branches will be used for the neck, legs and antlers. For added character, find wood with the bark still attached.
Measure and cut the logs, notching out part of the head to create the nose. Drill holes at slight angles for attaching body parts. If needed, whittle away some wood from the ends of the branches to get a snug fit.
Use dowels to connect the legs, turning them in their holes to make the reindeer stand straight. A lag bolt can be used to attach the head with the body. Light up your yard by adding a light with an extension cord. Add eyes and a bow and Rudolph is sure to get the attention of the entire neighborhood!
