        Highlights:

        Step 1: Prepare the Surface

Prepare the surface to be painted. The surface may be a freshly cleaned or a newly painted wall.

        Step 2: Paint the Surface

Pour paint into a small paint tray made for use with a patterned roller. This type of paint tray is lined with a rough plastic liner that helps control the amount of paint the roller picks up. Load paint onto the roller, rolling it over the liner.
Apply the paint to the surface.
