How to Make a Circular-Saw Guide

Cutting straight lines with a circular saw can be a challenge. A saw guide can solve that problem.
        • Time

          Under Half Day

        • Price Range

          $1 - $50

        • Difficulty

          Moderate

        In this Project you will:

        Step 1: Cut the Plywood

Cut the 3/4" plywood or hardwood to a width of 12" for the guide's fence.

Cut the 1/4" plywood to the exact length of the fence.

        Step 2: Attach the Fence

Attach the fence perpendicular to the bottom of the 1/4" plywood, using a power drill and screws. If the screws protrude, file or sand them down to protect your hands.

Step 3: Cut off Excess Plywood, and Secure the Guide

Any plywood that extends more than 6" to the right of the fence is excess material. Cut it off with the circular saw.

Screw or clamp the finished guide in place before using it.
