To get started, you’ll need welding equipment and safety items, a couple of different width sizes of rebar and a weatherproof bowl. To protect your eyes from harmful particles, wear safety glasses at all times when welding, even under a helmet and face shield.
Wear protective garments of wool, cotton, or leather: including shoes, gloves, long-sleeved shirt and long pants. Synthetic materials can catch on fire. Don't wear pants with cuffs, as flying sparks and hot metal can get caught in them.
Cut rebar with grinder to the desired size. Weld the top triangle together. Stand up base legs in tripod position, criss-crossing the rebar in the middle of each piece.
Use wire to tie the three pieces of the rebar together. This will hold the pieces together until it is time to weld them. Tack weld the three triangle corners to the tripod base.
Tack weld the three pieces of rebar together for the tripod. Remove wire tie from the tripod. Finish welding the top of the tripod base and finish welding the middle of the tripod – also known as a finish bead.
Lay the bowl in the triangular frame. With a wire brush, clean any rust off the rebar. Apply metal primer, then outdoor paint
