How To Make a Bamboo Trellis

Follow these steps to make a simple trellis out of bamboo, perfect for vertical gardening.

Step 1: Wrap the First Pole
Step 2: Wrap the Second Pole
Step 3: Wrap the Third Pole and Finish

Step 1: Wrap the First Pole

Buy three bamboo poles (available at garden centers) of the same length -- at least 6 feet long. Wrap wire around one of the poles, approximately 4 inches from the top.

Step 2: Wrap the Second Pole

Line the second pole up next to the first. Wrap/weave wire around both.

Step 3: Wrap the Third Pole and Finish

Lay the third pole next to the second and attach in same way (Image 1). Twist, secure and cut wire (Image 2). Stand the trellis up like a tripod, spreading out the legs.
