Step 1: Work With the Existing Plants

Prune the existing palms, and plant Mexican fan palms, which thrive in dry climates and often exist on only 4" of rain a year, along the wall.

Step 2: Add Organic Matter

Add organic matter to each planting site; future fertilization will be needed only on a yearly basis.
