        Highlights:

        Step 1: Connect Fittings

Connect all the basic sink fittings before setting the sink into place. First, apply Teflon paste to the threads of both the hot and cold water fittings. Screw the stainless-steel fittings onto the valves and tighten securely with channel-lock pliers.

        Step 2: Clean Fittings

Prep the inside of each fitting with PVC cleaner. Wait for a few moments, then apply PVC glue to the inside of each fitting. Also apply cleaner and glue to the outside of each waterline stub beneath the sink, and push each fitting firmly into place. Make certain that you glue the hot and cold fittings onto the correct lines.

        Step 3: Find Sink Fasteners

This particular sink is fastened to the plywood substrate with adjustable metal clips with a top fastener that threads into the groove in the bottom of the sink. These clips will help hold the sink secure in position.

        Step 4: Install Faucet

With the fittings secure, work can begin on assembling the sink itself. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing the faucet to the sink. In our case, the faucet is fastened from underneath using a custom-fit rubber washer and retaining clip. A nut secures the assembly. The pull-out sprayer accessory is attached in the same location.

Step 5: Put Putty Around Drain

The drain is installed next. Prep the drain using plumbers putty around the perimeter. Work the putty into place so that it covers the entire ring of the drain.

        Step 6: Install Drain

Insert the drain into the sink, thread the gaskets into place and tighten securely by hand. A brass ring will be used later to attach the drain pipe to the bottom of the drain.

Step 7: Lift Sink into Place

Before setting the sink into place, apply a bead of silicon beneath the lip around the perimeter of the sink. In addition to the clips, the silicon will help secure the sink in position and provide a watertight edge. Be generous with the silicon caulk to ensure a good, watertight fit. Any excess caulk can be cleaned up with a paper towel before it dries. Carefully lift the sink into position, and press down firmly. You can then go back and tighten down the adjustable sink-clips underneath the countertop.

        Step 8: Install P-trap

The P-trap serves as the conduit for the drain, but also serves another important purpose. The curved portion holds water and forms a barrier that keeps sewer and drain fumes from surfacing. Install the P-trap by lining it up and tightening the brass ring securely onto the bottom of the drain, then hand tighten the other end to the sewer line.
