Measure the depth and length of the closet to determine the size of shelving needed.
Install the horizontal track. It should be placed as high as possible and attached to studs for strength. Use a level to make sure the track is straight.
Measure down from the track to the point where the lower shelf will be. This measurement should be the minimum length of the vertical standard.
Cut the standards by using a hacksaw (Image 1). Smooth the rough edges with a metal file (Image 2).
Attach standards to the horizontal track (Image 3). Don’t hang more than 24" apart and do not secure the standards until the shelves are fit in place.
