        • Time

          Under Half Day

        • Price Range

          $100 - $250

        • Difficulty

          Easy to Moderate

        Highlights:

Step 1: Remove the Old Fixture

Before beginning any type of electrical work, turn off the power at the circuit breaker. Remove the old fixture. Make sure that the wires don't touch as you remove the fixture.

Step 2: Mark and Mount the Track

Position the track over the position of the old fixture. Mark mounting holes through the track onto the ceiling surface (Image 1). Use self-tapping screws (Image 2) -- which don't require pre-drilled holes -- to mount the track to the ceiling.

        Step 3: Connect the Wires

Attach jumper wires to the house wires in the ceiling, then attach jumpers to the heart of the track. Push all of the wires into the ceiling and close up with the supplied cover.

        Step 4: Add the Lights

Snap the lights into place on the track and add light bulbs. Turn on the breaker and aim the lights where desired.
