To get a nice seam, cut the rails at an angle. Set the compound miter saw at a 45-degree angle and cut the edges of the paneling to give a beveled cut (Image 1).
Measure and mark the stud locations on the railing. Nail the railing directly to the studs.
Use a laser level to set the placement of the rail over the seam (Image 2).
Use impulse nailer to secure the rail to the paneling (Image 3).
