knob installation

Looking at our upper and lower cabinets, it seems that we need to move the knobs to make it look better...more balanced. Is it acceptable to alter the heights of the knobs so that the distance is different on the uppers than the lowers? It's like an optical illusion due to the angle you view the cabinets.

A more simple way to install, without drilling

Jig

You can purchase a jig or an "alignment guide for mounting knobs and pulls" at your local home improvement store ex: Lowe's or Home Depot. I purchased one at Lowe's for about $7. You can also find them online... do a google search of "kitchen cabinet hardware installation template".
