How to Install Bamboo Flooring on a Diagonal

Step 1: Install Moisture Barrier
Lay Rosin paper over entire floor, overlapping the seams and taping them down. This acts as your moister barrier.
Step 2: Cut First Plank
After the entire floor is covered with Rosin paper, start your installation in a corner of the room. Using a speed square, measure your first 90 degree piece (Image 1). Using a miter saw, cut two 45 degree angles, one on each side of the wood plank (Image 2). This will give you your 90 degree piece.
Step 3: Install First Piece
Using a pneumatic nail gun, secure the first piece in the corner of the room. When laying your planks, make sure the tongue side is facing out into the room.
Step 4: Cut and Install Next Piece
When the first piece is secure, take your measurements to get your plank length (Image 1). Cut another set of 45 degree angles: one on each side of the plank using a 12” miter saw. Once each plank is cut, fit the tongue side of the previous plank into the grooved side of the new plank. Use a rubber mallet and tapping block to tap planks into place (Image 2).
Step 5: Staple Planks
When the planks are locked in, take a flooring stapler and place tip onto the tongue of the plank. Staple the plank onto floor every 6 inches, keeping the tip of the stapler on the tongue of the plank.
Step 6: Finish Installation
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all remaining planks of flooring, making sure you are working away from the original corner.
