        • Time

          Weekend

        • Price Range

          $500 - $1,000

        • Difficulty

          Hard

        In this Project you will:

        Step 1: Measure the Area

Measure the dimensions of the entryway and take it to a local materials supplier where they will calculate the amount of each material needed.

        Step 2: Cut the Door

Acquire a salvaged door. Cut it to the appropriate dimensions for the door opening. In this case, five inches was cut from the bottom of the door so that it would clear the ground once it the door was hung.

Step 3: Sand and Prime the Door

Sand the door and prime it.

Tip: Tint the primer so that you'll need fewer coats of paint to get an even finish.

        Step 4: Paint the Door

Paint the door. It may take more than one coat to completely cover and get the deepest color.

        Step 5: Hang the Door

Hang the door using hardware that will weather well.
