Apply a bead of construction adhesive to the cement board underlayment (Image 1) and press into place (Image 2). Attach the board to the floor with cement board screws.
Cut away the excess drainpipe with a flexible, 6-inch blade on the reciprocating saw. Cut the pipe flush with the cement board.
Apply construction adhesive to the bottom of the shower base, making sure to cover each cleat and the area around the drain hole.
