Step 1: Mark and Cut the Wood
Mark the position and depth of the hinge on the wood with a pencil (Image 1).
Use a chisel to make small cuts into the pencil marks (Image 2).
Step 2: Dig an Indentation, and Place the Hinge
Dig a small indentation with the chisel and mallet.
Remove debris from the indentation to ensure a smooth surface.
Place the hinge above the indentation and screw into place.
