Set the countertop on sawhorses for stability. Apply painter's tape in the general area that will be cut. Measure and mark the center of the sink (Image 1).
Next, measure and mark halfway between the back lip of the sink bowl and the back edge of the countertop. Where the two lines intersect, use a hole saw to drill a hole for the faucet supply lines (Image 2).
Place the faucet on the countertop and feed the supply lines through the cut hole.
Tip: Keep the countertop on the sawhorses for easier work.
From underneath the countertop, install the faucet retaining washer and tighten the nut.
Dry-fit the countertop and faucet assembly on the vanity. Check that the counter is level (Image 1).
Tip up the counter and apply silicone all along the edges of the cabinet (Image 2). Press the counter into place.
Complete the installation of the faucet by reinstalling the water supply lines, turn the water back on and check for any leaks.
Put a line of silicone around the edge of the faucet and clean up any excess.
