        Highlights:

Step 1: Watch an Overview Video

Step 2: Get Insight on Renovating

Thinking of doing a few home improvements? Do the ones that will give you the most return. Talk to a Realtor®, who can give you insight on which renovations will give the biggest bang for your buck.

What you get back on your investment depends on the value of your house, the value of houses in your neighborhood, the housing market in your area, how soon you sell after making changes and the quality of the project.

Step 3: Find Out What Features are Selling

Check local real estate ads online to see what features are mentioned. Experts agree that the kitchen is the number one home remodel. Replace or paint the cabinets. Get new hardware and cabinet pulls so everything matches.

To really impress, upgrade your appliances. Maybe try stainless steel or, a new faucet and sink along with countertops and tile backsplash. Do the same in the bath and tear down dated wallpaper. Splash on some paint to add personality and don't forget landscaping. Buyers prefer showers over tubs if space in your bathroom is a factor.

These home improvements will add value to your home that you can enjoy now and benefit from when it's time to sell. Be sure to hire experienced contractors. Ask to see the appropriate papers, references, licenses and proof of insurance.
