        • Time

          Day

        • Price Range

          $1,000 - $2,500

        • Difficulty

          Hard

        In this Project you will:

Step 1: Find Spot to Center the Cooktop

Determine the center of the cooktop, then use a plumb bob to find the corresponding spot in the ceiling.

Step 2: Attach the Plywood to the Ceiling

Make a nailer by cutting a piece of plywood a little larger than the mounting bracket for the hood. Determine the center of the piece of plywood, and drill a hole through it. Attach the plywood to the ceiling with screws, lining up the center hole with the center mark

Step 3: Screw In the Bolts

Mark the locations of the lag bolts on the nailer. Screw the lag bolts about 3/4 of the way into the nailer. Slide the bracket onto the lag bolts, and tighten them up.
