How to Grow a Wildflower Meadow Garden

The simplest method of creating a wildflower meadow is to sow seed directly onto the bare soil. It may be necessary to remove the topsoil first since vigorous grasses will compete with the flowers if the soil is too fertile.
Materials needed:
meadow garden seeds
gardening shovel
rake
garden netting
Check the sowing rates on the labels.
Measure out the seed required to cover your meadow area. If the seeds are small, mix them with sand so that you will be able to see clearly where they have been spread on the soil surface.
Dig up the area, and prepare it thoroughly.
Divide out the area to be sown into three-foot squares and sow the seeds, spreading half in one direction and the other half in the opposite way.
Use a rake to gently bed the seed into the soil.
It only needs to be just below the soil surface for successful germination. Birds may target the seed, so cover the seeded area with a net if necessary.
Water regularly.
This will help the wildflower meadow to germinate and produce a stunning display of flowers. It will need cutting down at the end of summer, but allow the seeds to fall before removing the material.
