        How to Create Crackled Furniture

        A crackle-finish can be applied to wood furniture, a ceiling fan, or over a faux-finish surface to give it an antique look.

        Highlights:

        Step 1: Apply Primer

        Clean furniture surface with TSP to remove any grease or residue.

        Paint clean, dry surface with latex primer, then apply base color and allow to dry.

        Step 2: Apply a Crackle Finish

        Apply Craquelure and allow to dry, then add top coat. Wait for finish to "crackle". In this room, the crackle finish is applied to a ceiling fan.
