Draw lines on the rosin paper as guidelines for writing out equations on the Plexiglas.
Using a permanent marker, John writes out a series of mathematical equations for motion for an inverted pendulum robot (quotes or poetry would work equally well for nonscientists).
Turn the Plexiglas panels over and paint a light coat of Castleton Mist on the surface. While the paint is still wet, they use paper towels to spread and lighten it (Image 1) until they are left with a textured wash of translucent paint that allows the equations to show through the back of the glass (Image 2).
