Step 1: Apply a Basket Combing Technique

  • Wipe furniture surface with Trisodium phosphate to removed dirt, oil and debris.

  • Add three parts glaze to one part eggshell latex to create a top coat glaze.

  • Apply glaze to furniture. Then, while glaze is still wet brush over it using metal combs in a slight wiggle motion, first vertically and then horizontally.

  • Lay three strips of painters tape side-by-side around dresser edge. Remove the center piece of tape to create a masked area for the border.

Step 2: Paint the Border

  • Use eggshell latex paint to paint border within taped area and allow to dry.

  • Dip artist's brush in dark brown paint and paint bamboo details, then use white paint to accent and highlight the brown brush strokes.

    Pinecone Path (KM4040-5)
    Parchment (KM3994-1)
    Beyond Pale (OW203-1)
