How to Add Decorative Molding on Top of Baseboard

Here's How To Do It:
You can use this technique to match a discontinued design.
Cut and Position Molding
Cut the molding to size and position it on the top edge of the molding. Joints may be mitered or butt-joined (as in this sequence).
Secure Molding
Secure the molding in place with finish nails. Continue to install the molding along the baseboard.
Add Finishing Touches
Fill nail holes and joints, and sand before painting.
