Step 1: Remove the Pillow

Remove insert from pillow; iron cover.

Step 2: Mark the Center of the Fabric

Fold cover in half diagonally and lightly finger-press crease. Open out and fold in half diagonally the opposite way, forming a diagonal cross in center. Make a light mark at center, using fabric marking pencil.

Step 3: Draw the Initial

Place tracing paper on center of cover. Draw initial, making it about 5 inches high and 4 inches wide. Remove tracing paper; place transfer paper on cover, then place initial on top. Use tracing wheel to transfer initial to cover.

Step 4: Arrange the Buttons

Arrange buttons as desired to cover initial, using a combination of sizes and placing all the holes in the same direction.

Step 5: Glue the Buttons

Using tweezers, pick up a button; apply glue to back and replace in position. Attach all the buttons in this manner. Let glue dry. Alternatively, you may sew the buttons in place with a needle and thread.

Step 6: Insert the Pillow

Replace insert in cover.
