Entertaining Kitchen: Wall and Trim Paint

A lackluster kitchen is transformed into Party Central.
        • Time

          Several Weekends

        • Price Range

          $250 - $500

        • Difficulty

          Moderate

        In this Project you will:

        Step 1: Prep the Room

The room is prepped for painting. Nail holes in the window trim are spackled, sanded smooth and touched up with white primer.

Step 2: Apply the Painter's Tape

Painter's tape is carefully applied around moldings, cabinetry and windows.

        Step 3: Apply the Paint

Berkshire Beige paint is used as a color for both the walls and the trim. Our experts cut in with brushes first before rolling two coats of paint on the walls.

        Step 4: Add Shine

When the paint is dry, clear low-luster varnish is painted over the trim for a subtle shine. For a smooth finish, the varnish is brushed on with long, even strokes.
