Step 1: Remove the Shade

Note: Choose a lamp with an interesting shape and clean lines for the best effect.

Remove shade from lamp; wipe lamp thoroughly with soft cloth.

Step 2: Apply Primer

Using 3/4-inch brush and vertical strokes, apply a coat of primer to lamp base; let dry for two hours.

Step 3: Apply Satin Cream Paint

Using 1/2-inch brush and horizontal strokes, apply a light coat of Plaid’s Apple Barrel "Satin Cream" paint to lamp base; let dry for two hours.

Step 4: Apply Metallic Champagne Paint

Using diagonal strokes, apply a light coat of Plaid’s FolkArt "Metallic Champagne" paint, allowing previous color to show in some areas; let dry for two hours.

Step 5: Apply Oyster Pearl Paint

Using vertical strokes, apply a coat of Deco Art Dazzling Metallics "Oyster Pearl" paint; let dry for two hours.

Step 6: Mix and Apply Paint

Mix Oyster Pearl with FolkArt "Metallic Pearl White" paint; use diagonal strokes to apply a coat of the mixed paint. Using light strokes, apply another layer of mixed paint in some areas to create mottled mother-of-pearl effect. Let dry for two hours.

Step 7: Apply Sealer

Apply one or two light coats of spray sealer to entire lamp base; let dry for at least one hour before replacing shade.
