The micro-adjustable gauge has its own fence that slides left to right so that you can get a tight cut right up to the blade. The fence is extendable to cut longer pieces more accurately. The stop on the gauge allows you to make several cuts the exact same length. It can also be used with the extension. Flip the stop up to keep it out of the way when not in use.
