Tools That Are Best Rented, Not Purchased

Some tools are so expensive or rarely used that it makes sense to rent. All rental equipment should come with safety guidelines and documentation proving it has been regularly serviced. Look for any damage before signing rental contracts.

Compressor

Air compressors power pneumatic tools. They are available with power up to more than 5 hp and they can have tank sizes up to 80 gallons (300 liters). The frequency and duration of use will determine the horsepower and tank size that you'll need for your DIY project. A 2 hp compressor will be adequate for typical tasks around the house.
