Prewar

High-rise residential buildings constructed between 1890 and 1940 are considered prewar. At the time, people were leaving rural areas and moving to the city. High ceilings, arched doorways and nickel-plated features are just a few of the charming characteristics, as well as hardwood flooring, moldings and fireplaces. Most commonly found in urban areas, New York City has the most prewar high-rises.
