On our second trip to the school, we are continuing to build a learning garden and outdoor area where the children can do school work while surrounded by nature. Dean and Jackie join with the children, teachers, and parents of the school to create a park-like area with new learning possibilities all around. This was the dream of the late Dr. Robert Frazier who was principal of the school for many years. This wasted piece of land gets a new seating area and shade sail above and metal edging to separate the various sections. A wet, low lying ditch is converted into a learning landscape with boulders and water loving plants. The area above the wetland is developed as a meadow using transitional plantings. As if that weren't enough, a professional muralist creates a memorial mural to honor Dr. Frazier's life?
