A Community Garden Makeover (continued)

Episode DGFI-411

After successfully kicking off the La Madera Community Garden project in El Monte, California with a fence and grand entrance, Jackie and Dean return to take on a few more challenges with the volunteers and local residents. The area is easy access for everyone in the neighborhood, but Jackie & Dean show how a winding stone path can become wheelchair-accessible by covering it with decomposed granite. A creative design using the finest lumber is also used to turn an area of dirt and leaves into a natural, park-like seating space. It?s another round of landscaping on a grand scale as the hosts witness first-hand the heart of a committed community, while the neighbors learn what they're truly capable of pulling off when given the right guidance.
