With a background in botany and field ecology, Joel Moss (pictured on right) has a passion for all things plants. A huge believer in sustainable growth, Joel puts his heart and soul into creating landscapes that make sense within a given eco-system, including native and drought-tolerant plants, as well as sustainable design. Along with eco-friendly landscaping techniques, Joel brings his own artistic flair to each design — including metal sculptures, welding and painting, watercolors and aerosols. Joel’s landscaping career began after high school when he started working for his father’s business, Moss Landscaping Company, where he learned all the skills of landscaping and design. That eventually led him to start his own landscape company for several years, doing everything from design to consulting to installation. He currently hosts DIY Network’s Yardcore with his brother, Jake Moss (pictured on left).
