Attaching the Legs- Use hairpin legs to support the top so you can continue the curves all the way to the floor.
- To attach the four hairpin legs to the bottom of the table, first draw a center line--just a little registration mark--so you can eyeball where the legs should go.
- Mark the center points for each leg by measuring how far their placement is from one another in conjunction with the sides.
- Place the legs where you want them to go. The more distance between the legs the more stable the table.
- Once you get them into the right position, tape the legs down with basic masking tape (figure A) and then flip the table over to make sure the legs look uniform to the tabletop.
- With the legs in proportion, remove the tape and draw in the spots where you want to drill.
- You need to mark the holes to drill for the screws and you do that with an awl. Drop it down in the center of each hole and tap it with a mallet. That will create a little divot in the laminate that will give you a solid starting point for the drill bit.
- Center it and give it a couple of taps.
- Drill in the holes for each of the screws and attach the legs (figure B).
