    15. To keep track of the miter joints, number each piece of wood on the inside of every miter to make sure that they match up later when you glue them together (figure G).

    16. Attach stretchers using the biscuit joiner. Place them where you want them, strike a line and cut the groove on both sides.

    17. Sand the frame parts before you assemble them.

    18. It is time to assemble the frame. Start with the large frame first. Use a foaming glue. It is important to dampen one side of your joint with water.

    19. Squirt glue into the mortises (figure H) and slide the biscuits in.

    20. Apply glue to the biscuits with a brush and make sure the joint has an even layer of glue.

    21. Put the pieces together and repeat the process on all the miters.

    22. Wrap band clamps (a nylon strap with a ratchet on the end) around the piece, lock in the corners and ratchet it tight.

    23. Once the band clamps are on, make sure the joints are all tight and the frame is square (figure I).

    24. Repeat the process on the other frame, glue the grooves, glue the biscuits, assemble the frame, clamp and check for square.

Note: If there is any glue that squeezed out during the clamping process, just wipe it up with a damp cloth.

    25. Let the glue dry for about four hours, then sand the frames and glue them up with the stretchers.
