    Cutting and Framing the Wood

    1. First, cut the lumber into narrow lengths on the table saw (figure A). Cut the pieces a little oversized.

    2. Mill the saw marks using the planer. The planer's main purpose is to mill wood to a uniform thickness. The machine pulls the board through and the surface is planed off by a cutting head with three long blades.

    3. With the bed set to the proper height, pass all the pieces through the planer one at a time (figure B).

    4. Readjust the bed and plane the other side of the frame pieces removing the saw marks and at the same time milling the wood to the finished thickness.
