    Materials:
    Table saw
    Circular saw
    Tape Measure
    Router
Cordless drill/ drill bits and screwdriver bits
    Wood glue
    Angle brackets
    Screws
    5 sheets 3/4" birch plywood
    Standards
    Primer and paint

    Steps:

    1. Rip 4'x 8' sheets of plywood into 20" wide pieces. This will yield two pieces that wide per sheet. You will need four pieces total.

    2. Using a router (figure A), rout out two 3/4" grooves down the length of the sidepieces of wood. These will house the standards that will hold the shelves in place. Screw the standards in place with the supplied wood screws.

    3. Next, the header and footer boards need to be cut. They'll be 20" wide and 33" long. Use the circular saw to make these cuts.

    4. With the wood cut to size, it’s time to prime and paint the wood prior to construction.

    5. Pre-drill where the wood will meet and then line the joints with wood glue. Using two-inch wood screws, in the pre-drilled holes assemble the finished wood in all four corners (figure B).

    6. Stand up the unit (figure C) and measure between the sides to know how long the shelves will need to be. Cut the shelves from the same 3/4" plywood.

    7. Once both shelving units are constructed, place them in the closet and attach to the wall using angle brackets and three-inch wood screws, being sure to attach them to the studs in the wall.
