Now that the basic shape of the rooster's body and legs is finished, Lubkemann begins adding details:

    1. To cut the inverted V shape between the legs, start by placing the sharp point of the knife on the top end and draw the knife down the legs. Cut on both sides to make them equal.
    2. Narrow the neck down a bit, then round the head down until it's proportionate.
    3. To make the rooster's comb, cut the area down to a nice, thin blade, then cut a straight cut followed by a slanted one.
Tip: Be sure not to twist the knife, just let the pieces fall out.
    4. For the neck, make a little cut from the top and then from the bottom, cut a little bit at a time.
    5. For the wattles, simply cut inward -- then move up.
