Five types of wood -- popular, cherry, walnut, birch plywood and oak -- are glued together in a repetitive fashion to make the blank used for these rolling pins (figure A). The layers of wood are held in place with water-based yellow carpenter's glue (figure B). Not only can this type of glue be wiped clean from the boards, but it is also water-resistant when dry. Waterproof glue can be used instead, but it isn't necessary.Materials:
