    Now that the turning is completed, there are a few steps left in the assembly process.

    • Put a fitting in the keyring opening, place in a clamp, square it in position and tighten the clamp; inserting the fitting into the keyring will take pressure, and once inserted, it cannot be removed (figure A and figure B).

    • Satin and gold fittings are inserted in the pens using the same process. If the clamp requires too much pressure to insert the fittings, fit them using a drill press.

    • For the pens, insert the tube that holds the ink cartridge into the wood cartridge until just the brass portion of the tube is inside the wood casing (figure C).

    • Test the fit with an ink cartridge, making sure it extends and retracts correctly. Adjust if needed (figure D and figure E).
