    If you'd like to attract birds to your yard, set up a birdbath.

    First, level the base of the birdbath, then place the top on the base, and level it as well (figure A). Remove the top, and spread a bead of silicone caulk around the base (figure B). Replace the top, and leave it undisturbed while the caulk cures.

    If your birdbath is untreated and unsealed, algae may grow in it. You can remove it with a toothbrush, but occasionally you may want to add chemicals designed to reduce algae in ponds.
