After setting the basin in place, Paul cleans off any dirt and dust that may have settled on the slate. Then, the pump is assembled with foam over the tubes at each cutout to prevent any water from splashing behind the fountain.

Time: 10 hours over two days. Difficulty Rating: This project rates a 3 out of 5 on the Weekend Handyman difficulty scale.Materials: Safety glasses Work gloves Waterfall kit Drop cloth Carpenters pencil Flathead screwdriver Level Laser level Hammer Tape measure Power drill Stud finder Right angle impact driver 2-1/2" screws 2-1/4" lag screws Wall anchors Cotton cloth or sponge Spray bottle Distilled water Tubing and Water Pump 1. Attach the top bracket to the wall with an impact driver, driving the 2-1/4 inch lag screws into the studs (figure A). 2. Leave your first lag screw a little loose. This makes it easier to plumb the bracket before tightening the screw. 3. Set the basin on the J brackets (figure B). A copper basin is a natural bacteria killer. 4. Set the pumps into the basin, attaching with the suction cups each slate gets it own pump so there are three pumps in all (figure C). Then, plug the pumps into the outlet (figure D). Make sure that the pumps dont run dry!
5. Hang the three water dispersers on the upper bracket (figure E).6. Direct the tubing from the water disperser into the basin (figure F). 7. Put the hose clamp around the tubing and connect the end of the tube to the pump and then tighten the hose clamp around the connection (figure G). Be careful not to overtighten the pump outlet fitting or it will crack.
8. If the water disperser gets clogged from debris that falls into the basin, use a paper clip to clean out the hose.9. Hide the cord from the light valence behind the top bracket before the slate gets installed (figure H). 10. To prevent water from splashing behind the fountain, insert foam pieces over the tubes at each cutout in the pan (figure I). This also holds the tube in place. 11. Clean the slate with a cotton cloth and water (figure J).
