Working with drywall can be overwhelming, especially the tasks of cutting and measuring. Fortunately, tools especially designed for drywall work can help. The drywall T-square is used as a measuring guide for cutting sections of drywall in perfectly straight lines (figure A). Use a utility knife to score a line down one edge of the T-square to cut a straight line through the drywall (figure B). The drywall scoring square allows the user to make horizontal cuts while measuring. It has a series of small holes down the length of its straightedge (figure C). The blade of a utility knife fits into the appropriate hole as the user pulls the scoring square across the surface of the dry wall (figure D). The rasp file is used to smooth the rough edges of drywall (figure E).
