A stock feeder takes the place of a push-stick and helps you feed stock smoothly into a stationary power saw (figure A). The stock feeder is attached to the top of the saw with a clamp. Its dial can be adjusted up to a speed of 46 feet per minute and to feed stock forward or backward. To cut a board using a stock feeder, raise the saw's blade to about 1/4" above the height of the board (figure B). Place the board tightly against the saw's fence, and give it a little push. The machine will take over and feed the board through the saw.
